Let's Go Back There

Image
Sri Lanka Hectares of historic tea plantations, stretches of unspoilt beaches, bellowing surf and swell, a jungle with such density it reflects scenes from Jurassic Park and a proud nation full of overlapping communities, religions and cultures.  My most recent trip to Sri Lanka, April 2019 marked my 9th visit to this island of which, like many others, I call ‘my happy place’. The smell of thick humidity and island freedom sticks to you instantaneously, replenishing ones soul within seconds - raw, real emotion. A country where the sound of motor horns are drowned out but the very visuals you encounter within them, the overpowering beauty of the natural landscape, the people, the carryings on in their way of life. An explosion of sound, smell and sight that fills your mind and body with a magical energy - an energy that the country exudes all by itself.  Somewhere, somehow, someone, made a cruel and devastating decision to disrupt the balance of this land sending shock

My Heart Belongs In Africa

Image
Red earth soil as raw as can be,  Prehistoric landscapes encompassing desert, jungle and vast open sea. An expanse of land so dense and wild,  Every element of nature so beautifully designed and compiled.  I believe in energy in both the earth and the soul,  When my feet hit the earth in this African kingdom I start to feel whole. Senses become alight, each burning with light and fire, Singing from within like an orchestral choir.  The sun rises with such prominence and hope,  Setting in almighty colour at dusk over the savannahs and dainty antelope. The night sky is born and the universe above is awoken,  The density of stars brining tranquility before the new daylight is broken. Stricken with poverty but blessed with natural riches and wealth,  The magic of this place should be savoured with every last breathe. Barren in political justice where heads of those should be bowed in shame,  Yet an overflow of strength and courage from those wit

Nurturing Mother Nature

Image
The tiny pieces that make up the worlds significant sands,  The millions of tiny fragments that spread across the lands.  These precious wonders created over the expanse of time,  Will diminish and dissipate among other natural beauties as a result of our own human crime.  The seashells which once belonged to the ocean and the creatures below, Will never belong to the generations to come for I fear of destruction and sorrow. Tumbling and spinning around and around,  They are the gift of the sea and the essence of the seashore sound.  Billowing waves curling into the coast,  Never underestimates the power and strength the ocean does boast.  The source of life and an ever moving mass of magic,  Yet we continue to ignore the irreversible damages we are causing and this is simply tragic.  Minute by minute, day by day, a little more is taken away and a little more is destroyed,  We forget to realise that eventually if not soon we will create our very own global

Get up, Stand Up

It looks good, it feels good and most importantly it does good. SUP'ing has swept the shore's of the global coastlines as quickly as a new colour trend sweeps the catwalk at fashion week.  Originating from Hawaii, paddle boarding has upgraded from an alternative to surfing on those non wavey days to one of the most popular full body workouts out there in the fitness world.  Combining fresh air, water and sun this workout on water encompasses enough of nature's wonders to blow any trip to the gym out the way....Whether you are taking a leisurely paddle on a lagoon or riding double overheads in the swells of Bali, SUP'ing is the new cupping and the trendiest of trends.  You can cruise and smooze with friends, compete with those foes and hang out with your bro's and or hoe's.  Tighten those buttocks whilst downward dogging on water - Jesus would be both jealous and proud, bronze that bod whilst floating around and strengthen that core whilst you sweep the salt

Aloha!

I am now a permanent resident of a place they call paradise.  It is controlled by the Tiki God's and ruled by me and my partner in crime, a dangerous little flower called Sophie Lily Kerr.  It is showered in fresh flower petals, and it's water source is a fast flowing river of fresh fruit cocktails.  The community is made up of Hunky alpha male's and beautifully cheeky Honey's who's mission is to elevate stress and inhibitions and inject a level of fun and inner freedom.  There is a King of this tropical town, he  is tall dark and stormy, he is vivavcious and totally fabulous and goes by the name of Mr Jolley.  Under his command, this paradise remains peaceful with a very naughty twist.  Dancing is not only encouraged but promoted by three little ladies who bend and snap better than Miss Wetherspoon in that scene from Legally Blonde... There are a handful of Prince's who manage the floor, from Lewis and Adam, to Loik and some more.  Handsome and helpful, se

Pack Like a Profesh

Image
From the perfect suitcase to the right wardrobe, the art of packing can be boiled down to a science.  Like anything in life, preparation is key, and in order to become a practical princess in the packing process one has to follow some rules.  The wardrobe doors are swung open and the suitcase is unzipped and so begins what feels like the most intense and real life game of Tetris – frantically trying to figure out how and where to fit everything, from the face polishers to the jimmy choos.  Whether you are off to traverse in the African bush or dashing off for a weekend in a cosmopolitan city, there are some simple yet smart strategies which can create easy, stress free packing.  The idea is to pack light but fashionably, something that many find much easier said than done.  The key is to pick specific outfits for your trip, realise both you and your wardrobe have the ability to mix and match and admit to yourself that you do not need 14 different evening outfits, a handful
